Where Tradition Meets Transformation

Master Steven Schwab’s began training under Grand Master Chung at the age of 5. Raised in the heart of Chung’s Academy, by the time he turned 15, he had earned his black belt in Tae Kwon Do and was already following closely in the footsteps of Grand Master Chung, his lifelong mentor and inspiration.

That same year, Master Schwab expanded his training into Judo and Kyuki Do, embracing the additional Korean martial arts of Kyuki Do while also exploring the Japanese discipline of Judo. Today, he holds advanced ranks in all three disciplines:

  • 6th Degree Black Belt – Tae Kwon Do

  • 5th Degree Black Belt – Judo

  • 5th Degree Black Belt – Kyuki Do

Master Schwab’s Training Philosophy:

Patient Instruction, Powerful Growth

For Master Schwab, martial arts has never been just about technique, it’s been a way of life. Every hour on the mat has shaped his character, strengthened his discipline, and deepened his understanding of what it means to grow, not just as a martial artist, but as a person.

He brings that same philosophy into every class he teaches. His approach is patient, thoughtful, and encouraging, but never without challenge. Whether you’re a young beginner or an adult trying something new, he’ll meet you where you are and help you discover what you're capable of becoming.

Master Schwab has shared his knowledge with military personnel, law enforcement, and the local community, offering accessible, empowering self-defense seminars. His teaching style reflects the core values passed down by Grand Master Chung: respect, humility, confidence, and lifelong learning.

An honors graduate from Kettering High School and a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Wright State University, Master Schwab embodies the balance of mind, body, and spirit. He shares his life - and passion for teaching - with his wife, Mary Schwab, who also holds advanced ranks in all three Korean disciplines:

  • 4th Degree Black Belt – Tae Kwon Do

  • 2nd Degree Black Belt – Judo

  • 2nd Degree Black Belt – Kyuki Do
